Ned Nwoko’s Exit from PDP Has No Impact as Deltans Enjoy Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda – Onwusanya Jnr

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has been in the news lately, both positively and negatively.

On the positive side, Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori recently received the Arise Television and ThisDay Governor of the Year Award and was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Novena University, Ogume—all within a week.

On the flip side, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the Senate, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), sparking mixed reactions.

However, speaking at the Delta North Leaders and Stakeholders meeting at Government House, Asaba, PDP chieftain and Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Peter Onwusanya Jnr, dismissed Nwoko’s defection as insignificant. He described the senator as a “serial decampee” whose exit poses no setback to the PDP.

According to Onwusanya, Deltans—especially in Delta North—are too focused on enjoying the dividends of democracy under Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda to be distracted by political defections. He highlighted how the governor is transforming all three senatorial districts into construction sites with key projects.

“Delta is a PDP state, and come 2027, our people will vote for PDP again,” he asserted.

Onwusanya further emphasized the governor’s achievements, including:

Infrastructure: N2.1 billion allocated to each of the 25 local government areas for rural and internal road construction in 2025.
Power: Completion of the PPP power project in Owa-Oyibo to serve the University of Delta campuses, medical facilities, and surrounding communities.
Healthcare: Over 150 hospitals and clinics undergoing renovation and upgrading.
Education: Delta now boasts four functional state universities, with timely bursary payments for students.
Economic Empowerment: Disbursement of financial grants to 2,000 MSMEs under the MORE Business Upscale Programme and empowerment of over 97,000 beneficiaries through the D-CARE programme.
Security & Investment: Delta’s stable security has made it a preferred destination for national programs, conferences, and events, boosting the state’s internally generated revenue.

With these and many more achievements, Onwusanya concluded that Governor Oborevwori and the people of Delta State are unbothered by Ned Nwoko’s exit.
