Governor Ifeanyi Okowa gave the charge while declaring open the town hall meeting at the Unity Hall in Government House, Asaba.

Governor Okowa, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, said the town hall meeting was timely as criminals have reinvented their wheels of criminality where neighbours may be kidnappers or run a terrorists cell.

The governor, who observed that the number of people joining the police had declined probably because of their perception of the police, encouraged the young ones to join the force now to strengthen the security architecture.

OPINION: Delta PDP Let’s Focus on the Big Picture of Peace and Unity of the State – Akpodiete

Delta PDP

Delta State PDP Stakeholders Should Abstain From Being Economical With the Truth and Making of Contradictory Arguments. Let’s Focus on the Big Picture of Peace and Unity of the Sate*.

It is not truthful to say; the 2006 and 2014 PDP governorship primaries of Delta State was contested by aspirants from Delta Central alone against Dr Uduaghan of Delta South and Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta North respectively. Bradus Angozie from Burutu LGA in Delta South contested, Godswill Obielum from Ndokwa East LGA, Esther Uduehi from Ndokwa, Peter Okocha from Oshimili and Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa from Ika North East LGA in Delta North contested. So many aspirants from Delta Central like Pius Ewherido, Ejaife Odebala, Kenneth Gbagi, Ovie Omo Agege, Emmanuel Agwariavwodo, among others also contested.

There was nothing like Ibori imposing Uduaghan on the party. Ibori supported Uduaghan no doubt but he was able to mobilized majority of the stakeholders to look the direction of Delta South and Uduaghan.

There was primaries at Ogwashi-Uku on 10th December, 2006. Uduaghan and Okowa came 1st and 2nd respectively, and there was supposed to be a run off for two of them because Uduaghan who came first did not score up to 51% of the total votes to be declared the winner as required by the party Guidelines for that year. Okowa was prevailed upon to step down and allow Uduaghan of Delta South to be the candidate. Similarly, in the 2014 guber primaries at Asaba , majority of the stakeholders pushed for Delta North to produce the governor. Aspirants from Delta Central and Delta South contested against aspirants from Delta North.

Kenneth Gbagi from Ughelli South LGA, Ovie Omo Agege from Ughelli North LGA, Amos Otuamah and David Edevbie from Ughelli North contested. Godsday Orubebe from Burutu LGA in Delta South also contested. Dr Okowa from Delta North won because majority of the stakeholders also looked at the direction of Delta North to produce the candidate.

The in thing is that whether there was official or no official, written or no written agreement on zoning/rotation the party had through State chairman always ‘voiced’ a zoning direction which prevailed. Recall the days of Emmanuel Ogidi, Peter Nwaoboshi. Discordant voices to the direction had always been there but the voice of the party carried the day and it will not be different with the golden voice of Kingsley Esiso .

What majority of stakeholders are now saying, praying for and diligently working on is that zoning and rotation be retained or sustained, irrespective of whether it started by deliberate agreement or by default or accidental or divine. It is good for the peace and unity of the state , and as well, equitable, fair and just. Therefore, the 2023 governorship seat should go to Delta Central!

A CHEATING WOMAN IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN POISON SAYS A PSYCHOLOGIST PROFESSOR

A man can cheat on his woman and still love her but a woman cannot cheat on her man and still love him. I say this because while men do not have sex with emotions, women can’t have sex without attaching emotions to it. This is the reason men simply need a place to have sex while women need a reason to have sex.

Most women who take their husbands to court for divorce are those that cheat on their men. A non cheating woman would most likely never take her husband to court for divorce, unless the man exceedingly abuses her physically and emotionally to the point of killing her.

Men don’t equate sex with love. A man can have sex with another woman but still doesn’t love her. That’s why women who fell in love with married men find it difficult to find happiness in those relationships as they are just being used by those married men. But once a married woman starts sleeping with you, she can even narrate some hidden secrets concerning her husband and she will even tell you why she hates him (her husband).

For men, sex and love are two different things. But for women, sex and love are one and the same things. For men, sex comes first before love (infatuation), but for women love comes first before sex (true love). Therefore, once your woman starts having sex with another man/men, her love shifts from you to that man and she can even start giving that man the best food and love than she gives you.

The fact that your man is cheating on you doesn’t mean he has stopped loving you. But I can’t say the same for women. Once a woman starts cheating on you, she has fallen for someone else and you people will never live the same again.

If your wife starts cheating, you should be a lucky man not to die in less than 10 years. It has been found that 95% of women who cheat wish their husbands dead. She can even accept poison from the boyfriend to eliminate her husband. That is the main reason why it is dangerous for a man to continue staying with a wife who cheats on him. That is why it is encouraged everywhere in the world including in the Bible, for a man to divorce his wife only once she starts cheating on him. Cheating women are more deadly to husbands than ordinarily criminals or weapons. There are many cheating women in the world who invite criminals to break into her house at night only to come and eliminate her man and police officers plus relatives can’t detect this as the same woman tend to mourn more than any person at the funeral so as to attract sympathy and hide her evil acts.

That’s why psychologists discourage women, more than men, from cheating.Because women can’t handle the emotional conflict that comes with cheating.

That’s the reason an observant and intelligent man will notice that his wife has started cheating on him once she starts doing it because most women tend to lose respect to their husbands and try to avoid sex with them in most times.Cheating Women will even be giving excuses for not wanting to have sex with their husbands. Study has revealed that nearly 90% of women who cheat find it hard to have enjoyable sex with their husbands, again an intelligent man will detect this once his wife’s behavior with regard to sex start changing. But a dull man can never detect this and always tolerate fake excuses from his cheating wife until he is completely eliminated.

I repeat, nearly 100% of cheating women wish their husbands quick death or divorce to have unlimited sexual freedom while nearly 100% of cheating men can’t wish their wives quick death or divorce. That is why most men cant allow their wives to be physically or verbally abused by their girlfriends. Men will always stand for their wives.

Once your wife starts sleeping with other men/man, just know that your death is near.

DELTA 2023: Loud ovation greets Edevbie as PDP holds ‘Mega Rally’ in Asaba

By ABEL JOHNGOLD ORHERUATA

Delta State immediate past Chief of Staff and frontline Delta 2023 gubernatorial aspirant, Olorogun David Edevbie, has been hailed like a king and rousingly applauded by the massive crowd of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful, including many of the party’s big wigs, at the January 22 mega rally, held in Asaba to welcome decampees from the All Progressive Congress ahead of the 2023 general elections in the State.

Edevbie, who had earlier arrived with a crop of top-notch party stalwarts, reminded the grand assembly of his long standing cordial relationship with Deltans.

The charismatic former Principal Secretary to the Late President Umaru Yar’ Adua and several times Commissioner of Finance in Delta State’s arrival at the rally venue received a resounding loud ovation of “the in-coming governor”, which made some popular party leaders to think aloud, saying: “David Edevbie has stolen the show here again; I think his time has come to lead Delta State.”

David Edevbie has been judged to be the most charismatic leader among all aspirants jostling for Dennis Osadebey House come 2023 by pundits in the State.

DELTA 2023: OLOROGUN DAVID EDEVBIE AS THE PROVERBIAL BIG MASQUERADE

Written by: Akaba Clement Eriraivenre

As the build-up towards who succeeds incumbent Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State come 2023 intensifies, it is common knowledge that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), like many other political parties, are already enmeshed in the politics of shopping for a suitably ideal candidate that will serve as their standard flagbearer at the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state. This feat would be quite ruffling owing to the notion that whoever emerges will have a higher chance of winning the upcoming gubernatorial poll and it’s reflected in recent records which shows that the PDP has well over Twelve (12) gubernatorial aspirants from whom only one will stand as their standard flagbearer. Such Candidate must be well easily Saleable, politically viable, and most of all free from Scandals if the PDP must have a smooth and itch-free sail to victory in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

Olorogun David Edevbie is one aspirant who seems to stand tallest among the rest when rated in terms of experience, youthfulness, political viability, Marketability and freedom from Scandals. He is invariably equal to the task of ensuring easy ride to victory for the PDP. He can be fully trusted on this owing to his stunning personality, wealth of experience, and wide acceptability which has made him seem more like the proverbial big masquerade whose presence makes other aspirants, including those of other political parties, appear to be underdogs.

It is only a political simpleton that will doubt the fact that everything seems to be pointing in favour of Olorogun David Edevbie as far as the gubernatorial race is concerned. Let’s not forget the historical fact that the man was the second runner-up at the Delta State PDP governorship primary election of December 2014 that ushered Governor Ifeanyi Okowa into power in 2015. That incident alone goes a long way in publishing a clearer picture of the man’s political clout even when he declared to run in that governorship race within three (3) months to the PDP primary election.

Another factor that will surely work in his favour is the fact that he maintains a very robust rapport with the last three successive governors who without a second thought would garner massive support for him compared to other aspirants. This is one major factor that elicits envy as other aspirants consider this as an unfair advantage for the man.

In the area of requisite experience, it is a known fact that Olorogun David Edevbie has been in the Delta State government circle since the advent of the Fourth Republic in 1999 when he served as Commissioner for Finance during erstwhile Governor James Ibori’s two term era. He also served the incumbent administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in various capacities as Commissioner for Finance and more recently as Chief of Staff to the Governor. With these alone, it becomes quite glaring that no other aspirant has a better span of knowledge and experience pertaining to the administration of Delta State compared to him.

The PDP should ensure not to be oblivious of the imminent fact that while they are yet struggling over the choice of who to field as a flagbearer, the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) lurks around waiting to cash-in on the slightest opportunity just in case the PDP goofs in their Choice of Candidate. We really don’t need the premonition of a Clairvoyant to know that the political dynamics of the state has been greatly altered since 2019 as the opposition APC in the state now has the person of the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate who is currently warming up furiously for the gubernatorial race should in case the ruling PDP fields a political Lightweight.

It would be wise and precautionary, at this point in time, that the PDP put their best foot forward as a doctrine of necessity by fielding Olorogun David Edevbie. A stitch in time they said saves nine.

Would the PDP in Delta State follow the easy path to victory OR the hardway to victory?

Only time shall tell.

ICPC, SUBEB KICK START TRAINING ON INTEGRITY FOR EDUCATION MANAGERS IN DELTA

By Sharon Ivovi

Delta State Government has reiterated its commitment to continue to support any project and efforts that would enhance the efficient use of available resources for the maximum benefit of Deltans.

This was made known by the Commissioner for Primary Education, Hon. Chika Ossai, while declaring open a two day workshop for education secretaries, organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) in collaboration with the State Universal Basic Education Board in Asaba, the state capital.
