The Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) has been named the Most Innovative Health Insurance Agency of the Year 2025 by the Health Insurance and Managed Care Leadership (IHMCL), marking a major milestone in the state’s healthcare journey.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Commission in Abuja, Mr. Abraham Obuseh described it as a great honor and a proud moment for the entire DSCHC team. The award, he noted, reflects the Commission’s collective efforts in advancing health insurance delivery in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Director-General of DSCHC, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, hailed Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as “the greatest innovator of all times,” attributing the Commission’s success to the Governor’s visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to healthcare reform in Delta State.

“This award is a testament to the Governor’s passion for transforming the health sector,” Dr. Akpoveta said. “His unwavering support and innovative drive have propelled the Commission to new heights.”

He emphasized that under Governor Oborevwori’s administration, the DSCHC has emerged as a benchmark in the nation’s healthcare landscape. “No other health commission in the country matches our level of innovation, dedication, and strategic focus. And behind this transformation stands one exceptional leader.”

Dr. Akpoveta further noted that the Commission’s journey has been one of continuous growth and groundbreaking reforms. “Our story began nearly a decade ago with a clear vision to redefine health insurance in Nigeria. This recognition underscores our long-standing commitment to that vision.”

He expressed gratitude to IHMCL for the honor and commended the Board, management, and staff of DSCHC for their dedication and teamwork, which have been instrumental in the Commission’s outstanding achievements.
