In the spirit of compassion and service, the Senator representing Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District, Dr. Babangida Hussaini (Walin Kazaure), has rolled out food items and cash support worth N300 million to thousands of indigent families across the 12 local government areas in his constituency to cushion the hardship of Ramadan fasting.
The intervention, which includes 3 trailer loads of rice and 3 trailer loads of millet, is aimed at providing relief to vulnerable households during the sacred month of Ramadan. Each of the 12 local government areas received 150 bags of rice and 150 bags of millet, while selected beneficiaries were also supported with cash tokens ranging from N25,000, N20,000, and N10,000 to enable them to purchase sugar and other essential ingredients.
Speaking during the distribution, Senator Hussaini said “This initiative reflects my dedication to the well-being of my constituents, ensuring that families have the necessary support to observe the holy month in peace and comfort. Ramadan is a period of reflection, love, and sharing, and I am committed to supporting my people during this sacred time.”
Women Empowerment for Sustainable Livelihoods
In his continued efforts to uplift women and promote economic self-reliance, the Senator also announced a special empowerment package for 400 women, each receiving N25,000 to support their small-scale businesses.
“Women are the bedrock of our communities. This support is not just financial assistance but a step towards economic growth, self-reliance, and sustainable development,” he stated.
