Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has commended the royal fathers for the remarkable support and cooperation extended to his administration.
Governor Okowa made the commendation at the presentation of staff of office to His Royal Majesty, Issac Onomeyare Ajawobu Uloho 11, the Odiologbo of Onogbkor kingdom, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area.
Okowa represented by His Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro noted that traditional rulers were carried along in the scheme of things.
According to him,” As you are aware, since this administration came on stream, we have remained consistent in the inclusion of our traditional rulers in the scheme of things, in view of their vast background, experience, training and exposure, which have no doubt, contributed immensely to the maintenance of peace and harmonious co – existence towards the development of our society”.
He pointed out that the emergence of His Royal Majesty, Issac Onomeyare Ajawobu Uloho 11, as the Odiologbo of Onogbkor kingdom was a welcome development considering his exposure and knowledged virtues of Justice and modesty .
While saying that it was statutory for the State government to present staff of office to new t traditional ruler after due installation and enthronement by his people, Okowa said,” the event accords him official recognition as Traditional ruler of Onogbkor kingdom”.
Okowa who joined other well – wishes, on behalf of the government and people of Delta State, to congratulate the royal Highness for earning that grace of Almighty God who found him worthy to ascend the throne of his ancestors as the Odiologbo of Onogbkor kingdom, prayed God to grant him sound health, wisdom and foresight in the superintending the the traditional affairs of his people.
He acknowledged that Onogbkor kingdom is a riverine community that should be into the production office crop and fish, adding ” I, therefore, use this opportunity to call on the sons and daughters of the kingdom, to take advantage of various programmes of government to increase your production , particularly the Delta State Production and Processing Support Programme and Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Scheme , to improve their Production capacities” he stated.
He , however noted the challenges facing the people of the kingdom, assuring that they would be channelled to the appropriate agencies of government for necessary action.
Speaking after the official presentation staff of office, the President General of Onogbkor kingdom, Pastor Okole Sunday Ifoghale who pointed out the teething problem in the kingdom included; roads, Oluto primary school, health center, pipe born water among others said ” l want to believe that today’s event is unique
this is because it ushered in a new era in the history of our great kingdom”.
Pastor Okole appealed to the people of the kingdom, especially the youth to uphold the virtues of integrity , unity and respect for constituted authority in order to maintain and sustain the peaceful co – existence and cooperation with the new monarch.
