Enugu state APC yesterday the 19th of April during their expanded stakeholders meeting had over 150 persons from the labour party and the PDP defecting to APC.
The meeting which witnessed attendance by party leaders, members and Stakeholders across the 17 local government area of Enugu state deliberated on a wide range of issues and resolved as follows:
The stakeholders rejoice with our Christian brothers and sisters on the Easter celebration and urged Nigerians to use this period and embrace peace.
The meeting welcomesd new members who joined the party today and assure them of equal treatment with other members as we also task them on party loyalty and discipline. The leaders notes with excitement that the party has witnessed significant growth with influx of new members in the last one year.
“The number of new decampees that we received today is evidence of such influx across the local government areas and wards.:
The APC decried rising insecurity in Enugu state especially the killings at Uzo-Uwani and Isi-uzo local government areas in recent time. The party noted with regret the incessant kidnappings and killings in other parts of the state especially along Ugwogo-Nike-Opi-Nsukka road.
The leaders condemned the apparent inaction of the state government and it’s strenuous efforts to suppress the news of the killings. The party declared that the Peter Mbah-led government has failed in its primary duty of protecting lives and property of citizens of Enugu state. They wondered why the state prefers to engage in elaborate deceit of showcasing what they call Command and Control Center that could not resolve security breaches beyond 10 kilometers radius from the capital city, as the huge population of the citizens in the rural areas are left at the mercy of killer herdsmen and other criminals.
The stakeholders commended the leader of the party in the state, the Hon Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji (Nwakaibie) for attracting hundreds of employments to our teeming youths as well as federal government projects to the state. They also thanked the Minister for being a great sponsor of the party activities for some years now.
The party leaders also expressed happiness over the Minister’s sterling performance and achievements so far in the Ministry.
The stakeholders also extended similar thanks to other leaders especially the National Deputy Chairman, South, Chief Emma Eneukwu and others for their support.
The stakeholders received with amusement the news of the purported resignation of the expelled former state chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye from the party,who was expelled from the party in 2023 alongside other moles for anti-party activities.
One cannot be resigning from a party that he or she is no longer a member of since 2023.
The stakeholders received notification from Uzo-Uwani local government area and Nkpologwu Ward on the suspension of Sen Chuka Utazi for anti-party activities.
The stakeholders endorsed the suspension and mandated the State Executive Committee to ratify the suspension in her next meeting and forward same to the Zonal leadership of the party.
The Enugu APC stakeholders urged the people of the south east to continue to support the government of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his reform programmes which are beginning to yield fruits.
The party leaders expressed absolute confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President, and pledge in advance our total support for his second term in office.
The party leaders commended the leader of APC in South East, the Governor of Imo State, Sen Hope Uzodinma, for his untiring efforts and support for the party in Enugu state and South East in general.
The stakeholders encouraged the teeming party faithful in the state to keep faith with the party and not relent in holding their regular meetings at the Wards and Local Government Areas, and assured that the party and the federal government will not disappoint them.
