EcoAction 2025 Summit Kicks Off in Delta State with Key Insights on Trade and Business Growth

The highly anticipated EcoAction 2025 Summit and Fair commenced with a strong focus on empowering the informal sector, business expansion, and international trade opportunities. Organized by Chief (Mrs.) Shimite Love, Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, in partnership with UK International Development, the African Women Power Network (AWP), and other key stakeholders, the event attracted top entrepreneurs, exporters, and industry leaders.

Delivering the welcome address, Chief (Mrs.) Shimite Love underscored the significance of structured business planning and market competitiveness, urging entrepreneurs to position themselves for global trade.

“For businesses to scale internationally, they must be strategically structured, competitive, and adaptable to global market standards. This summit is designed to equip our entrepreneurs with the knowledge and connections they need to thrive,” she stated.

The event featured engaging sessions from renowned speakers who provided practical guidance on business growth, export opportunities, and market positioning.

Mr. Remi Ademiju, a business strategy expert, highlighted the importance of structured business planning, covering key elements such as financial management, product and service pricing, business goal setting, and digital marketing strategies. His interactive session allowed participants to assess their business plans and identify areas for improvement.

Miss Orode Uduaghan, Commissioner for Girl Child and Humanitarian Services, addressed market competitiveness, emphasizing the need for entrepreneurs to understand their target customers, competitive edge, brand positioning, and strategic decision-making for local and international success.

Miss Mary Olusola, Founder of the African Women Power Network (AWP), explored avenues for empowering the informal sector by facilitating access to retail giants like Shoprite and Ebeano. She also spotlighted Nigeria’s strong export potential in high-demand products like ginger while addressing critical issues such as product standardization, consumer protection, and leadership skills.
